Monster Boom — It's Later Than You Think

The common refrain of the man caught out with a stack of Playboys is that he reads them for the articles; when it comes to me and this zine, I’m in it for the eye candy. Sure, there are 3 articles, but they remind me way too much of being in art school, so the best thing I can say about them is that they’re short.

But the monsters! Oh, the monsters. I’ve always loved dude-in-a-suit effects, and having once been a little Ultraman boy, I know that the tokusatsu scene is the best place to find them. This little volume, impeccably laid out / typeset / curated as it is, skews a bit too far in the Power Rangers direction for my taste, but it’s still a lovely little project and a respectable compendium of some of the finest rubber suits the Toei Company ever cobbled together.

The scroll is not infinite.
There is an end, and you have reached it.
